 ABOUT AMH & LOW- ANTI-MULLERIAN HORMONE

AMH is a stable hormone and is secreted by the granulosa cells in the ovary. It’s not affected much by the fluctuation in the menstrual cycle. The Low Anti-Mullerian Hormone level is an indication of low egg reserve in women. Lower AMH level is an alarming state for women as it decreases the chances of conception. The performance of AMH level is relative with the age factor. The presence of low AMH in ladies is confirmed to be on the 6th after birth and increases up till the age of 25 years and then it gradually decreases as women age. Although low AMH doesn’t necessarily impact fertility in women, rather it reports about the ovarian count which is detrimental in conception.   • FSH - Both, the Follicle Stimulating Hormone and AMH Level play vital roles in the development of egg in the Ovary. Low FSH the ovarian reserve will be low.
  • Environmental factors - Low AMH level can also factor due to cancer treatment, or inherited genetic cause.
  • Age factor - In Women above 35 years, AMH level gradually decreases. With ageing ovarian reserve decreases in Women.
