Ayurveda compares food with God as the saying goes “annam brahman”. We cannot be alive without food and for staying healthy a balanced diet plays an important role in keeping away the diseases.

Pregnancy is very important and a special phase in a woman’s life. Nature has gifted a woman’s body to reproduce and while carrying a baby in her womb it becomes much important to take care of the food she eats. Consuming medicines should be avoided or if taken must be prescribed by your doctor.

After the first trimester the mother feels the baby’s movement in her womb. As the days pass the baby grows in size and weight and during these changes it makes space by crowding the mother’s internal organs. This causes certain discomforts such as back pain, shortness of breath, constipation etc. From the guidance of your doctor you can prevent such discomforts and give rise to a healthy baby.

Ayurveda offers certain food regimen to be followed on monthly basis as one advances with pregnancy. A healthy diet reflects through the pregnancy glow on the mother’s face. Those who are trying to conceive must start taking care of their diet and lifestyle.
